Lock N Roll Vs Max Coupler

Do you really need a multi axis coupler like a max coupler or lock n roll or like me you will look back later and say it wasn t necessary but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I am trying to decide on a max coupler or a lock n roll. The reason is the unique way the hitch and coupler attach which allows the rotation and smooth ride you ll get with this hitch and coupler combo. After doing a little research i will probably be going with the max coupler on my trailer. I am able to find the lock n roll for sale at amazon and several other places but the max coupler is hard to find.

For folks building dinoots with our weld frames or building there own frames i prefer the lock nroll couplers. I have an off road camper and looking to change out the hitch. The lock n roll and max coupler will be much tighter predictable than the pintle system. The good news is that it allows a wide range of motion arguably making it better than a ball hitch for off road towing on uneven terrain but each of those pivot points seems like it d be more prone to wear than a ball and coupler.

My trailer is set up to use both a ball hitch and lock n roll but i use the ball hitch 90 of the time even offroad. The max coupler and lock and roll hitches on the other hand have a lot more weak points that could break than the pintle hitch setup but that brings me on nicely to the negatives. Lock n roll is a trailer coupling system that replaces the hitch ball and coupler with a more complex mechanism. Yes the lock n roll articulating hitch for 2 receivers 336vs511 does need the trailer to have a matching lock n roll coupler.

The lock n roll works great in 99 of the situations but there have been a few that can will cause the joint to bind. Utilizing 3 axis of movement including 360 degrees of rotation and a unique locking mechanism lock n roll trailer hitches are smoother operating and safer than any other type of hitch. The pintle hitch does not have full articulation which can potentially allow it to get into a bind. Anyone have suggestions for one over the other.
