The sound quality is passable at best can be described as fuzzy perhaps this was how the original lp sounded. The vinyl is super quiet with a low noise floor. Unfortunately this lp has so many pops crackles skips and general noise on it that my original been thru the ringer 1970s copy actually sounds better. I also heard some noticeable noise reduction on the title track.

Discussion i saw on discogs there were many pressings in 1971 when the lp was released especially in different countries also color variants. But my experience was the original maggot brain cd had rather lacking bass as well. Shame on you four men with beards. Did i hear a rare pressing.

After its release original members tawl ross billy nelson and tiki fulwood. P funk psychedelic rock acid rock. Bass response is very good and artwork is faithfully replicated on the sleeve and labels. It was back in 1990 something at work volume cranked up by a co worker to near hallucination inducing volumes.
